Parent Council Update – March 2026
The Parent Council met on 3 March to discuss student feedback, school updates, fundraising initiatives, and upcoming community events. Below is a quick overview of the key topics discussed and what’s coming next for our school community.
What We Discussed
Student Council Feedback
We welcomed the Head of the Student Council Reeva, who shared ideas and feedback from students. Some of the topics raised included creating a quiet space for MYP students, improving bathroom hygiene awareness in PYP, and supporting a student mural wall where students can contribute creatively to the school environment.
The Parent Council looks forward to continuing collaboration with the Student Council to support student-led initiatives and will follow up on these suggestions.
Yearbook 2026
Planning for the 2026 school yearbook is progressing well. A printing and design partner has been selected, and the yearbooks are expected to be ready in early June.Parent Feedback and School Updates
Parents recently shared suggestions through a feedback form regarding how Parent Council funds could best support the school community.
Some of the larger facility ideas raised—such as improvements to the science rooms, playground, and theatre spaces—are already underway through the school. Updates will be shared by the school as these projects progress. 3D printers were also mentioned- the school has had and used 3D printers since 2017, and have purchased 2 brand new printers. These are incorporated in the MYP curriculum.
The school also reminded families of the importance of traffic safety around campus, encouraging everyone to continue driving carefully and respectfully around the school.
Community & Fundraising
Grade Social Events
One of the strongest themes from parent feedback was the desire for more opportunities for families and students to connect socially.
To support this, the Parent Council will allocate funding (raised this year) so that each grade can organise one social event during the year, led by the class representatives. These events are planned for the 2026 academic year (before the summer).
Fundraising Committee
To bring more structure and transparency to fundraising initiatives, the Parent Council will establish a dedicated fundraising committee. This group will help develop future fundraising plans and ensure clear handovers between school years.
We would like to form a committee of 4-5 parents- please sign up if you are interested 👉

Friends of Anduru
We also received updates about the impact of the community’s support for Friends of Anduru. The 7000NOK funds raised have already made a meaningful difference, and plans are underway for representatives to visit the school and share their work with the students.
We have joined hands with Gi end Dag who has personally visited Friends of Anduru. We will continue to work closely with this organisation in our future support of this charity. More information: Gi end Dag
Communication Improvements
Based on feedback from parents, the Parent Council will now share short summaries of meetings through the Parent Blog, rather than sending out full meeting minutes to all parents.
Full minutes will still be kept on record and shared with Parent Council representatives if needed. Any parent can request access to the minutes via the class representative or directly from the Parent Council.
The goal is to keep communication clear, accessible, and easy for busy parents to read.
