Working Committee Asker International School


§ 1. Members

All parents that have students at Asker International School are members of the Parent Council. The Parent Council will work towards creating a good relationship between parents and the school, and
to create a positive environment for the students.


§ 2. Working Committee (WC) 

The Working Committee is elected by the Parent Council and is the acting body of the Parent Council.

The WC is the key body in ensuring a good relationship between the parents and the school. It shall secure involvement from the parents and is responsible to help create a secure and good learning environment for the students.

Parents in each class elect one representative and one deputy representative to the WC. The WC constitutes itself during the first meeting after election. The WC elects head of the committee,
deputy, treasurer and a secretary.

Each class has one vote on WC matters.  

Changes in representation should be communicated to WC as soon as possible. A replacement should be found immediately.

The WC can establish sub-committees for specific tasks if needed. Sub-committees include people who are not part of the WC.

The WC meets once a month or if at least three members require a meeting.

The WC committee can arrange collection of money through donations and/or activities. The funds are used for activities decided by the WC.

The head of the WC is responsible for:
  • Distributing an agenda prior to meetings
  • Leading the WC meetings
  • Participating in board meetings
 The treasurer is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the records

The representative for each grade is responsible for:
  • Communicating between grades and the WC and representatives from AIS
  • Building class community
  • Welcoming new families

The WC should publish an end of year report including an overview of activities and finance.
